When the first humans step foot on Mars, this will recreate the energy of Apollo 11 and all the publicity around it. Space will once again become a big part of our culture. When this happens, I think we will see a little more of the Overview Effect in everyone. If in the future, we all get a little bit of the overview effect, we could would get the benefits of the overview effect on the societal level. The human race would become more productive and have less distractions.
